What to bring to school: Please label your child’s belongings whenever possible. Sharpies work well on tags.
- Weather appropriate coat & boots/shoes for being outside at the end of the day (B’s Preschool now provides rain gear and boots for outdoor time)
- Warm winter hat & Sunhat (we provide organic kids’ sunscreen)
- Sweater or sweatshirt (layers are good)
- Extra set of clothes to keep at preschool (socks, underwear, pants, shirt)
- Blanket to leave here for full day children (we provide a pillow, mat, and sheets)
- One (maximum two) special doll or stuffed animal OR book (non-media characters) if they want.
- A backpack for your child with one outfit, their stuffy or book, and room for art to be sent home.
- Slippers to leave at preschool (optional)
- Vegetarian snacks to share (optional)
Please do not bring:
- Clothing with characters or other media images
- Treats or sugar
- Other toys- no plastic toys, no toys that make sound, no characters
Morning Arrival:
- Morning drop-off is from 8am – 8:30am ~ please arrive by 8:30am to help support our rhythm. Children who arrive late do not have time to acclimate or to free play sufficiently before the day begins, this disrupts the energy of the entire group. Please keep your child home from school if you are unable to be here by 8:45.
- Please change from shoes to slippers in the entry room. Leave coats on the hooks and shoes under the bench. You may greet our teachers and say goodbye in the mudroom/entry. We will wave through the waving window as you leave.
- If your child is anxious about your departure, please know that the quicker you leave the quicker that s/he will acclimate and calm down again.
Pick up:
- Please arrive between 3:30 and 5:30pm for afternoon pick up and help your child depart swiftly.
This helps support the rhythm of the children who have not yet been picked up and are staying until later in the day. - The preschool day ends at 5:30pm. There is a $10 late fee for parents arriving five to ten minutes and $20 late fee if you are fifteen to thirty minutes late. Please communicate promptly when you know you will be late for any reason so that we are informed and so your child does not worry. Texting is best.
